Grateful Memories

Evergreen Park, IL

The Need

Pat Ostry of JPJ, Inc. saw the need for families to create memorial booklets when and where they want, keeping the stress of planning a funerary service to a minimum after having to go through the process himself. He wanted to give grieving families an easier way to have all the components needed in a memorial booklet—Church-approved music, poems, and scripture—at the touch of a button while also allowing for personalization.

JPJ, Inc. partnered with Adage Technologies to create Grateful Memories, a browser-based application that makes the difficult, often rushed time of planning a funeral service a little bit easier.

The Solution

In order to make Grateful Memories as accessible and user-friendly as possible, Adage Technologies created a browser-based application—as opposed to a standalone program—that doesn’t rely on Flash or software needing frequent updates. This means Grateful Memories is accessible on any device with an internet browser, whether it’s a laptop, funeral home computer, or mobile device.

There is an emphasis on allowing families to create booklets in the comfort of their own homes, finalizing the design, and then printing on a home printer or with an outside printing company. As an extremely flexible, easy-to-use application, Grateful Memories has been well-received well by funeral homes, churches, and families.
