The Need
SupplyNet provides remote tank monitoring devices and monitoring systems to industries of all types. Any company that maintains remote tanks or containers as part of their supply chain can benefit from SupplyNet's state-of-the-art wireless monitoring devices. TankLink I (SupplyNet's initial system) collected data from remote devices into a database that was then displayed to customers via a classic ASP web application. As part of the FCC mandate to move all cellular devices from analog to digital, SupplyNet needed to upgrade not only their devices but the software and data points provided to customers.
The Solution
SupplyNet chose Adage to build TankLink v2. Adage worked closely with SupplyNet to assist in the revision of the data model to capture new data available from the upgraded digital devices but also completely revise the user interface. The new system, written in .NET, provides a more comprehensive view of customer tank information. Monitoring provides graphic representation of tank and battery levels as well as cellular signal strength. Customers can also update tank information and set alerting threshholds for individual tanks and groups of tanks. When tanks reach levels to be refilled or emptied, alerts are sent and action can be taken.
