Underwriters Laboratories - SCCL
The Need
Underwriters Laboratories publishes standards documents for product safety guidelines. The documents are often provided to clients electronically and they were being distributed freely to non-paying individuals. A way to securely encrypt and distribute documents was required.
The Solution
Underwriter Laboratories chose Adage to implement document security for all of their standards documents currently available in PDF format. Using FileOpen's WebPublisher software, documents can be "locked" down to limit any number of variables including number of prints allowed, views on different machines, and views by specific users to name a few. The solution will decrease the amount of unauthorized document sharing currently taking place.
