The Need
NES is a leader in the $25 billion equipment rental industry, specializing in renting specialty and general equipment to industrial and construction end-users. Having expanded rapidly over several years, NES needed a web site that appropriately conveyed their extensive catalog of rental products and services. In addition, NES needed an experienced team to work with the NES information technology group and provide real time access to rental equipent status and account information.
The Solution
NES teamed with Adage Technologies to create a new site design, represent NES' rental product catalog online, enable content management by NES marketing staff, and provide seamless access to NES' proprietary rental system data for client access. Adage worked with NES stakeholders to find a design consistent with NES' national identity. Using the Microsoft's Commerce Server 2000 framework, Adage imported NES' catalog of rental products providing NES clients the ability to browse rental products. Upon finding a a product to rent, a customer can now initiate a request for more information about that specific product. Future releases will allow NES clients the ability to search and rent products based on their location.
Adage enabled customer access to NES' backend operations system including accounts receivable, rental reports, and service history via a secure customer login.
An administrative section of the web site now allows NES staff to update images and descriptions of the rental product catalog and manage information and account access requests. Also, content management features make changing text, press releases, and news articles immediate for NES.
