The Need
Underwriters Laboratories needed a way to get their library of product safety guidelines to clients no matter where they were on a wide variety of mobile devices. The application must allow access to a personal, customizable standards library, offer document search capability, and employ an authentication model that tied the application to a specific device.
The Solution
Adage created a mobile web application to access UL’s repository of standards documents using jQuery Mobile. This allowed paid-users to search for, view, and create a personal library of commonly used standards. Users must purchase an authentication key, which is then tied to a specific mobile device, in order to gain access to the mobile application. This decreases the amount of unauthorized document sharing.
