The Need
Avaya Communication required a tool to track time off such as vacation, "comp. time", holidays, sick days, and personal days. "AvayaTime" had to allow for three types of uses: user time entry, manager time entry approval, and site administration. The application accommodates 300-400 hundred employees weekly.

The Solution
Adage Technologies built the application allowing users to enter time, managers the ability to approve that time, and administrator(s) to perform necessary maintenance functions. The system features varying levels of security, reporting/statistical information, and is completely web-based. Listed below are some of the actions one can take using AvayaTime: User Time Entry - Avaya employees are asked to enter their time into the AvayaTime application on a weekly basis. In addition, users are also able to view previous time submissions. Aside from entering and viewing their time, users can edit their preferences and password. All employees must enter time including managers. Therefore, managers also complete timesheets for approval by their managers. Manager Time Entry Approval - Once time sheets are submitted for approval, managers are required to review timesheets and approve or deny the submissions. If a timesheet is denied, the manager has the option of sending an email indicating which timesheet was denied and the reason for the denial. Administer the Site - The administrator is responsible for completing such functions as adding/deleting users, adding/deleting managers, editing user preferences, changing user passwords, modifying drop-down menu content, and running various reports.
