Lacks Valley Furniture is one of the leading furniture retailers in America.

Founded in 1935 as an auto parts store Lacks became a home furnishings retailer in 1940’s due to the war and now has over 500 employees. Lacks joined “Furniture Today’s Top 100” list in 2005 and one of the largest furnishings retailers in the country. Adage is helping advance their digital transformation with the design and development of Lack’s first ecommerce websites built on Episerver Commerce CMS.

Adage worked with Lacks to overhaul their digital experience to reach more customers, and stand out among the competition. To do this, the Adage team traveled to south Texas to a Lacks Valley show room location and observed both staff and customer interactions. Armed with an understanding of the customer experience, the Adage strategy and user experience design team team re-imagined the online experience for Lacks customers and employees.

Lacks’ new site was built on the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud Ecommerce and hosted on Azure. This facilitated easy management of Lacks’ digital products and content. The Adage team a faceted search solution to simplify the search for new furniture on the site.

Lacks uses a proprietary ERP system to manage their business. This meant close coordination with their internal team to identify necessary web services to create and then build out the necessary integration with the commerce platform, Episerver Commerce.

The new site design and layout is now both responsive (mobile friendly) and on-brand with a digital experience that makes it easy to browse or search for new furniture. The purchase process includes discount pricing, specials, and special shipping options specific to the furniture industry.
