Northshore's move from Ektron to EPiServer drastically increased site speed.
NorthShore chose to launch two new site features with the move from Ektron to EPiServer. The first feature included a custom built community section with forums and blogs for registered patients to communicate and share their experiences. The second feature included a redesign of clinical service and conditions pages throughout the site to make the patient experience more interactive and intuitive.
To extract the content and properties from NorthShore's previous content management system, Ektron, Adage built a custom exporting tool to pull data from Ektron and then merge it within the EPiServer CMS. A custom redirects manager was also put into place to redirect hardcoded links within the former CMS content blocks.
The migration to EPiServer drastically increased overall site speed, both on the public and admin side. Custom workflows were put into place to adhere to client business standards and the new menu structure and custom templates creation allows for easy content management. With the move to EPiServer, NorthShore successfully launched the new community and the clinical service and condition sections of their website. Visitors can also view the Northshore website from their smartphones with custom mobile application development from Adage.
Adage was also awarded the 2011 W³ Award for their esteemed web development of this website. Recognized for its usability, creativity, functionality, and ease of use, the website has also proven effective for NorthShore.
